Affordable natural skincare

Good natural skincare uses the best plant-based ingredients including herbs, seed oils and essential oils.

Each ingredient will be selected for the beneficial properties it brings to the product: in performance, consistency, nutrients, scent or therapeutic benefits. It’s the combination of multiple ingredients, with their balance of properties, that makes products great.

Some plants yield their oils and essential oils bountifully and are therefore relatively low-cost to produce; others are far more sparing making it highly costly to extract their precious oils. However, we often chose to include even the most expensive oils and essential oils if they bring the right properties to the product. You’ll find an enormous variation in the per gram price of different oils and essential oils for this reason, as well as the variation in pricing across different suppliers.

Blend-it-Yourself from scratch

When you blend your own skincare, you need access to a shelf-full of raw ingredients to achieve the same quality and complexity of product that you can expect to buy off the shelf. It can be costly to assemble all these ingredients, and frustrating to have to buy them in larger quantities than you need (which can result in ingredients sitting on the shelf, going off as they await the next use). Often you will need to visit multiple suppliers to get the full list of ingredients you need, which is time consuming and can accumulate significant post and packaging costs. In summary, assembling all you need to make a good product can see an outlay of £50 or more. Which makes a kit, in which everything is prepared and you’re just paying for the ingredients in the quantities you need, a very affordable option.

Off-the-shelf natural products

Any natural skincare product you buy off-the-shelf will have undergone stringent safety testing for stability and microbiological protection. These test the preservative system in the product, to ensure it will stay in a good condition from the time of creation throughout its lifespan. (It’s made with fresh ingredients, but it won’t go mouldy).

The manufacturer will have incurred significant costs in developing, testing and merchandising. And, in creating a great quality product, they will not want to cut corners on the quality of ingredients or the packaging.

All the costs associated with this are passed on through the end product price, meaning off-the-shelf natural skincare can feel like a very special treat indeed.

Blend it Yourself from a kit

A Blend-it-Yourself kit provides all the assurance of off-the-shelf (the kits have gone through the same rigorous testing process) and the high-quality ingredients, but at a fraction of the price.

Creating it yourself as you need it means you have the freshest product possible, (unachievable for any product you buy off-the-shelf).

Which makes Blend-It-Yourself One-Pot-Kits a great way to inexpensively get going in mastering the art of making your own skincare. Guaranteed great products with no fuss and no waste.
