Houseleek Eye Gel

Roughly chop a quarter of a small cucumber. Put this into a blender with three to five houseleek leaves and process until smooth. Strain the mix through a sieve to extract the juice, you’ll want 50ml of this in the next stage.

Separately, put 25ml witch hazel in a pan. Add a white or green tea bag and heat. Once warm, remove the teabag and whisk in half a sachet (or half a leaf, depending on how you have it) of gelatine. Gently heat the mixture until it just starts to thicken, then turn off the heat. As the mixture cools, whisk in 50ml of the cucumber and aloe juice mixture.

At this point you can add optional extras of 1 drop of peppermint oil, 1 tsp carrot oil and the contents of a Vitamin E capsule, if you chose. Each of these will reduce the vibrant colour of your green gel.

Bottle in a sterilized container and apply a little to the eye area before bed, then wash off in the morning.

Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
